Durante los últimos meses he tenido  la suerte de estar trabajando y aprendiendo torno y cerámica con la ceramista Heike Rabe, quien generosamente me abrió las puertas de su hermoso taller, amplio conocimiento, y su cálida amistad. Disfruto mucho de ensuciarme las manos y hacer cerámica, experimentar con materiales, y los nervios y curiosidad de ver la próxima pieza salir del horno. La cerámica es una actividad en la que a demás de la técnica, se aprende a ser paciente, respetar los procesos y aceptar que no siempre los resultados tienen que ser exactos a la idea original, es importante tener la posibilidad de crecer y madurar durante el proceso.Hacer cerámica ha sido para mi una lección de vida también!  

En este Proyecto he querido combinar tres actividades que son parte de mi vida diaria como el trabajo con cerámica,  imaginar y dibujar personajes, y sembrar plantas. Se trata de hacer macetas inspiradas en personajes de la cerámica precolombina y colocarlos en lugares cuidadosamente escogidos a manera de regalo para la ciudad. Aqui el proceso:

Over the past months I have been fortunate to be working and learning about ceramics and pottery with Heike Rabe, who generously opened to me the doors of her beautiful workshop, extensive knowledge, and warm friendship.I really enjoy getting my hands dirty and make pottery, experimenting with new materials, and the nerves and curiosity to see the next piece out of the oven. Ceramic is an activity were besides the technique you learn to be patient, respect the processes and accept that the results do not always have to be exact to the original idea, it is important to be able to grow and mature during the process. making ceramics has been for me a life lesson too!I  

In this project I wanted to combine three activities that are part of my daily life as working in pottery, imagine and draw characters, and seed plants. It's about making plant pots inspired by  pre-Columbian vessels and placing them in carefully chosen spots as a gift for the city. here the entire process:

Pan de harina de castaña y avena

Este pan es ideal para cualquier comida, no tiene azúcar pero se puede sentir el suave dulce natural de la castaña, a mi me gusta comerlo con aguacate o untado con mantequilla de almendras.

Ingredientes:

• 3/4  taza de harina de castaña
• 1/4 avena gruesa
• 1/2 cucharadita de bicarbonato de soda
• 1/2 cucharadita de sal
• 3 cucharaditas de semillas de girasol o sesamo
• 2 huevos
• 3 cucharadas de aceite de coco (si no tienes aceite de coco puedes usar de almendras o de oliva)
• 1/2 taza de agua
• Avena gruesa para decorar

Preparación

• En un bol mezclar los huevos con el aceite, poner el agua y seguir batiendo  hasta que todos los ingredientes estén bien unidos.
• En otro bol poner los otros ingredientes  y poco a poco incorporar la mezcla de los huevos. Dejamos que repose unos 5 minutos.
• Engrasar un molde pequeño con aceite, y poner la mezcla, decorando al final con la avena.
• Hornear a 180º  durante 35 minutos o hasta que al meter un cuchillo en el pan salga seco.
• Dejar enfriar y disfrutar!! :)

Chestnut flour bread and oats

This bread is great for any meal, no sugar but you can feel the soft natural sweet and nutty chestnut.

I like to eat it with avocado or almond buttered.

ingredients:

• 3/4 cup chestnut flour

• 1/4 oats

• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 3 tbsp sunflower or sesame seeds

• 2 eggs

• 3 tablespoons coconut oil (You can also use olive oil or almond oil)

• 1/2 cup water

• oats to decorate

Preparation

•In a bowl mix the eggs with the oil and then, put the water and continue beating until all ingredients are well attached.

• In another bowl mix the other ingredients and slowly add the egg mixture. Let it sit about 5 minutes.

• Grease a small pan with oil and put the mixture, decorating the end with oats.

• Bake at 180 degrees for 35 minutes or until a knife put in the bread comes out clean.

• Allow to cool and enjoy! :)
